Human Rights

The idea of human rights, is basically, to give  every human natural born rights. but we shouldn't have to have a declaration telling us or allowing us to live our lives they way we want.
Things, such as freedom of speech,or the freedom of thought or conscience  those shouldn't even have to be put into a declaration, we should already be allowed those things without doubt.
After reading the declaration of human rights, i realize that the declaration is hardly followed, and every action has a consequence. what is the point of  making a declaration when it means nothing? article 16 states that men and women of full age have the right to marry, not limited to race, nationality, or religion, but why is it in certain states, couples who are gay,can not get married?
Things that are written down are meant to help protect every individual, but  half the things on the declaration we cannot do, not allowed to do , or if we dare do them there is a punishment behind it.  We say we have freedom of speech but, Journalist, protesters etc, are getting killed for saying what they want, normal residents get jail time or beaten by cops for speaking whats on their mind.
I think its cool that we have a declaration of human rights, but to me its worthless when none of the articles are being respected.

chapter 24

i always wonder why none of the products i buy in the stores say made in america. majority of the time it would say made in china or indonesia. chapter twentyfour explained just why there are hardly any products made in north america. after world war two countries started to expierence what is considerd globaliztion. globalization is seperated into four major process; global interaction and transformation, liberation, global feminism, conforntation of world religions and growing awareness of humankinds enourmous impact on the environment.

the first process, englightens on the reason why americans dont have native made products ,and why alot of countrys shows influences of other cultures with in their own. through this first process, tecnology flourshied, economies boomed and goods were spreaded throught out the world. one down fall to this process is that it created a large gap between the rich and the poor in a lot of countries

the second and third process sorta goes hand and hand. the idea of global liberation is how many ethnic groups, and the female gender felt they deserved more, better opprunties ,more rights, and aknowledgement. world realgion also was effected by globalization , a lot of different relgions just wanted to pratice there faith while being given support and respect.

thelast process has to deal with the envrionment and how humans just take and take and are loving the idea of globalization but are not respected the earth. outta disregard to natural resources and their surroundings, the world is starting to experience global warning, amongst other things.
when the chapter first started, a muslim worker was complaing about the idea of the barbie doll, in my opnion i believe that when products are made which are outta the cultural aspect of a country its the parents and goverments job to have another product that could basically be a left hand to the product at question. globalization does bring about alot of cultural influences through out each country but its only deemed negative when a country does nothing about it. the barbie doll is an american model doll, which is sold through out the world, if a country thinks that the model is just to much for their country, all the have to do is make another doll to fit their society, that way children would not only favor or dislike the american barbie, but they will understand the difference in each cultural and see that the life the barbie portrays, may not be the right idea for their world.

chapter 23

Durning the 19th and 20th century, Africa, and Asia began a decolonization period, which promised national freedom, personal dignity, abundance and opportunity. Countries that were once labeled as 3rd world countries were now referred to as developing countries or the global south.
In the 1900s European colonial empires were not permanent settlers , but they were a permanent influencesin the lives of the africans , asians and middle east. In 1940, India Pakistan, Buma, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel grained independence, following after between the 1950s and 1970s more than 50 african colonies achieved their independence.  As the century ended, European colonial rule lost political creditability and order. Which meant that the natives could rule themselves " self govern". In Africa, and the Asian peninsula  a 3rd generation arouse called the elites, which were mainly males. Generally, lawyers journalist, teachers and business men.
In India, Elites were apart of a group called the Indian National Congress ( INC), they were not determined to over throw the British rule, instead they wanted greater inclusion within the political, military, and business life of British India. After the war, India did become a violent rebellious country. Which caught the attention of Mohandas Ghandi, who helped transformed Indians politics. He came with the Philosophy satyagraha " truth force," this was his non-violent approach to political action.
South Africa also gained an influential political leader, Nelson Mandela. He became the countries first black African  president and help linked south Africa with other countries throughout out other parts of Africa and Asia that have overthrown European rule.
