chapter 24

i always wonder why none of the products i buy in the stores say made in america. majority of the time it would say made in china or indonesia. chapter twentyfour explained just why there are hardly any products made in north america. after world war two countries started to expierence what is considerd globaliztion. globalization is seperated into four major process; global interaction and transformation, liberation, global feminism, conforntation of world religions and growing awareness of humankinds enourmous impact on the environment.

the first process, englightens on the reason why americans dont have native made products ,and why alot of countrys shows influences of other cultures with in their own. through this first process, tecnology flourshied, economies boomed and goods were spreaded throught out the world. one down fall to this process is that it created a large gap between the rich and the poor in a lot of countries

the second and third process sorta goes hand and hand. the idea of global liberation is how many ethnic groups, and the female gender felt they deserved more, better opprunties ,more rights, and aknowledgement. world realgion also was effected by globalization , a lot of different relgions just wanted to pratice there faith while being given support and respect.

thelast process has to deal with the envrionment and how humans just take and take and are loving the idea of globalization but are not respected the earth. outta disregard to natural resources and their surroundings, the world is starting to experience global warning, amongst other things.
when the chapter first started, a muslim worker was complaing about the idea of the barbie doll, in my opnion i believe that when products are made which are outta the cultural aspect of a country its the parents and goverments job to have another product that could basically be a left hand to the product at question. globalization does bring about alot of cultural influences through out each country but its only deemed negative when a country does nothing about it. the barbie doll is an american model doll, which is sold through out the world, if a country thinks that the model is just to much for their country, all the have to do is make another doll to fit their society, that way children would not only favor or dislike the american barbie, but they will understand the difference in each cultural and see that the life the barbie portrays, may not be the right idea for their world.
