colonial encounters

Chapter 20 is about how Europe took over control of Asia and Africa.  but also they were also in India and Indonesia.
I feel like Europe during the 20th century and past centuries has been taking over countries and civilizations back to back. and i still just don't understand why. like if they were such a power country like they said they were then why r they invading other countries. when Europe entered Africa and Asia they weren't primarily aggressive but if they needed to be , they would have been. it was like Asians and Africans became slaves in their own home. kinda like if a stranger just came into our house and try to run  the house hold. Africans generally didn't try to resist  the European rules, because sometimes the rules benefited them. Europeans felt that by speaking the native language vs speaking English would limit the natives from rebellion but there were always a group of people who just didn't like the Europeans in their country. racism grew  within the country and many of the natives could not hold positions in jobs.they were basically "nothing " in there own country, and it was hard to better themselves. women did a lot during this time they had to split their time between working on the farm and their families. but even though they did alot , the men were still in charge. Europeans entering Africa, had its positive points, but when they left, it left the country in confusion. I believe that even today, the problems in Africa such as the tribal wars between  the Hutus and Tusis are because of the changes the Europeans brought into Africa.  we learn from everything we experience, but i think the Europeans could have  went about things differently.
